How Wuzzhere uses your data
Who we are
Wuzzhere, at wuzzhere.com, is a Philippine adventure trail-album web app. For privacy matters, email kakrots.network@gmail.com. That inbox is our acting Data Protection Officer contact while we prepare for launch.
What we collect
Accounts are live. Album creation is in a small invite-only beta while this notice is under legal review. Here is everything we collect:
- Sign-in: if you continue with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google. We never receive or store your password.
- Profile: the handle, bio, and activity interests you choose. Your handle, name, photo, and trail stats appear on your public profile page. Your email is never shown publicly.
- Albums and photos (beta): when you create an album, your browser reads the location and time stored inside your chosen photos on your own device. Before anything is uploaded, your browser strips all photo metadata by re-encoding the images, rounds coordinates to about an 11 meter grid, removes a randomized 150 to 250 meters from the start and end of every trail, and coarsens photo times to the hour. Your original photo files and exact coordinates never reach our servers. You choose each album's visibility: public, secret link, or private.
- Saves: which albums you save, visible only to you and the album's owner.
- Usage analytics: page views and button taps linked to a random device identifier, with no coordinates and no other people's identities in them.
- Your data-usage preference, stored on your own device.
- Legacy early-access signups: emails and adventure names submitted through our old interest form, kept only for launch outreach.
We never collect your live location. There is no GPS tracking of any kind. We do not track you across other sites.
Why we use it
- To operate your account, profile, and albums, based on our contract with you and your consent given at sign-in and before publishing.
- To compute your trail stats and medals from the albums you publish.
- To contact legacy early-access signups about launch, based on the consent given on that form.
- To improve the product through aggregate analytics, based on our legitimate interest in making Wuzzhere work better.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase, for accounts, database, and photo storage, hosted in Singapore.
- Vercel, for website hosting, a US company with a global network.
- Google, for sign-in only.
- PostHog Inc, for analytics, with servers in the USA.
- Map and elevation imagery load from Esri and Amazon Web Services, which see your IP address and the map area you view, as any map service does.
We do not sell personal data, run ads, or use data brokers. Cross-border transfers are protected by our processors' safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Account, profile, album, and photo data are kept for as long as your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account or ask us to (see data deletion).
- Legacy early-access emails are kept until launch outreach is complete or until you ask us to delete them.
- Analytics are kept for 12 months.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, also called RA 10173, you have rights to access, correction, erasure or blocking, objection, data portability, damages, and the right to complain to the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.
To exercise your rights, email kakrots.network@gmail.com. We respond within 15 business days.
